An antique Shanks & Co late 19th cenutry stoneware basin. This elegant glazed rounded sink is of a Bute model and comes supplied with modern nickel plated taps, as pictured. The generous basin and style would make for a stunning new addition to a Victorian townhouse or period property.
Shanks & Co
Shanks & Co Ltd was founded by John Shanks in partnership with his brother Andrew in 1851 and quickly became an iconic British company. Based in Paisley, Scotland, together they went on to achieve worldwide success supplying and fitting sanitary ware, including on the Titanic and cruise ships Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth – making this original sink a quality find to become the focal point of any antique style bathroom.
